WATCH: Land Cruiser driver’s R5 000 full tank video goes viral

A video of a motorist filling up his Toyota Land Cruiser at a petrol station has gone viral after a tank costs him over R5 000.

The final amount was R5 022.25 for 190.67 litres at R26.34 per litre.

The owner can be heard saying in a mix of English and Afrikaans: “Buy a Land Cruiser they said, it will be fun they said… Jy gaan jou gat afbetaal in a Cruiser sê ek (you will pay your ass off in a Cruiser is what I’m saying).” 

At the time of publishing it’s unclear where the driver was filling up, but he’s heading for the “dunes”.

At the time of publishing the TikTok clip had been viewed over 1.1 million times.

Fuel decrease in June

Meanwhile, as reported by The South African website, there’s likely to be some relief at the pumps in early June with both petrol and diesel expected to decrease in price.

If the market conditions were to remain consistent for the remainder of the month, a decrease of 63 cents can be expected for petrol 93 octane motorists and a decrease of 61 cents for 95 users.

Meanwhile, diesel motorists could see something between a 74 to 77 cents per litre decrease.

No doubt that would be music to this particular vehicle owner’s ears!
