KAIZER CHIEFS TO APPOINT PATRICK AUSSEMS AS THE NEXT HEAD COACH?

According to the report, the 59-year-old Belgian has attracted Kaizer Chiefs due to his past success with big clubs in Africa. This includes two Tanzania Premier League titles with Simba and CAF Champions League semifinals with Sudanese giants Al Hilal. Aussems, a former Black Leopards coach in South Africa, could join Kaizer Chiefs as a free agent after leaving Kenyan giants AFC Leopards in July 2023.

LAST UPDATES FROM AMAKHOSI BOSSES

According to Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung, in December 2023, the club is searching for a new coach for next season.

“I cannot say at the moment how many CVs are on the table, but process is taking place,” the chairman said via SportsLIVE with BBK.

“We haven’t embarked on talking to anybody at the moment, but we have put a process is in place for us to deal with new coach that we want to bring in, because as you said, Mr Johnson is just an interim coach at the moment,” the Kaizer Chiefs icon concluded.

Motaung’s son and Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr, further confirmed in April that the process is still going ahead.

“We communicated from the onset that Cavin would be there on an interim basis, and there will very much be a different technical structure next season,” Kaizer Motaung Jr said via TimesLIVE.

“The plans have long been in motion … from our side we have been preparing for a while and at the appropriate time the club will make announcements. For us [Kaizer Chiefs] to achieve what we want to achieve is not just going to take one person (a head coach) or technical staff, it is going to take a lot of people, structures and elements that need to work, that haven’t been working for many years.

“We are very much cognisant of what needs to be done and what we have not got right in the past. We are focused on the future and want to make sure we make the right decisions,” the Kaizer Chiefs boss added.
